Kansas Athletics is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join our team! The Graphic Designer is responsible for developing creative content to promote the 18 varsity sports; along with maintaining and updating the “Jayhawk” identity system. The position is responsible for completing (from concept to print production) most two-dimensional work for in-house use and distribution on behalf of Kansas Athletics, Inc. This role may have managerial duties of a student-intern creative team.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Graphic Design, Communications, or a closely related field;
Minimum of one-year experience in a design-oriented role such as Graphic Design or closely related;
Managerial or supervisory skills that include coaching and the ability to foster teamwork;
Demonstrated working experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.);
Demonstrated proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite;
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Demonstrated strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
Ability to meet project deadlines with accuracy and quality;
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects;
Ability to work with and collaborate with designers within a team environment;
Ability to handle constructive criticism and accept input from multiple stakeholders and translate the feedback into cohesive, strategic design work;
Ability to take initiative and think outside/inside the box to evolve and progress marking initiatives;
Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Professional work experience in Graphic Design, Communications, or closely related field, for a collegiate or professional sports organization;
