This position plays a critical role in creating a positive experience for users in our aquatic areas. Playing an important role in the safety of users, they have the responsibility of coordinating all external American Red Cross classes taught to those that are offered to the University community. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:   Direct oversight of the UREC indoor and outdoor pools, and outdoor leisure river. Manage the Aquatic student supervisors and swim instructors. This position is responsible for providing case management services by: assisting students to reliably connect to community providers and resources; coordinating referrals between university, community, state, regional, and nationwide service providers; triaging clients through brief clinical assessments to determine level of care and disposition; intervening with students in crisis and providing support, resources, and information; contacting insurance companies; keeping an up-to-date database of community referrals; providing individual counseling, group counseling, and outreach as needed maintaining a successful case management system. 

 Essential Functions of the Job: 

 Function: Clinical Operations  - Coordinates, monitors, and evaluates clinical services for student-athletes, ensuring comprehensive tracking of care plans, treatment goals, and progress; collaborates with student-athletes to establish individualized goals and treatment plans; conducts biopsychosocial assessments and clinical evaluations to determine appropriate level of care and service frequency; documents all student encounters and contracts made on behalf of the student; completes and submits billing documentation as appropriate; maintains comprehensive client files, which may include documents held for safekeeping on behalf of the student; identifies and provides emergency coordination as necessary; makes immediate clinical assessments and responds according to accepted crisis intervention methods and techniques; coordinates other services as appropriate; actively participates in treatment planning and interdisciplinary case review with members of the Athletics Behavioral Health  maintains and reports applicable statistics regarding programs and services; coordinates referrals between university, community, state, regional and nationwide service providers; conducts triage assessments to determine acuity, risk, and appropriate disposition for student-athletes presenting with mental health concerns; intervenes with students in crisis and providing support, resources and information; provides short-term, evidence-based individual and group counseling, outreach, and psychoeducation tailored to the student-athlete population; develops proactive relationships with student-athletes and teams to encourage early help-seeking and reduce stigma around mental health support; assists students in managing pain, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, career transition or other issues through counseling, referrals, and participation in the care team; conducts follow-ups with patients after treatment. Follow-ups will consist of updating contact information, recording prescribed treatment, reviewing goals, baseline diagnostic status, symptom severity, and treatment adherence, and other pertinent information; manages documents and coordinates collaboration for Tulane Athletic Care Team (multidisciplinary team for student athlete well-being); reassesses those patients at each contact and arranges a full team reassessment every six months; communicate any new or significant needs or special patient circumstances with legal or medical safety ramifications to the Assistant Athletic Director immediately; and manages university sanctioned follow-up protocols for student athletes in coordination with the Office of Student Affairs.  Master&#8217;s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or a related behavioral health field.

 One year of experience with direct patient care, case management and psychosocial issues of adults

Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department&#8217;s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations.
