Mercer University Athletics is searching for a Support Specialist for Student-Athlete Support Services.
Responsibilities:
The Student-Athlete Support Specialist will serve as an academic support person for Student-Athlete Support Services. This position will mentor a diverse population of student-athletes in their transition to college and implement plans to aid in their academic achievement as student-athletes. This position also works with software appropriate for academic advising and eligibility. The Support Specialist will counsel students on the scheduling of classes to maintain eligibility and ensure academic success. The Support Specialist will assist in the recruitment process and academic orientation of student-athletes. This position will also work athletic events.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Knowledge of NCAA eligibility requirements.
· Ability to intervene, advise and implement solution to assist in academic achievement of student-athletes.
· Need to have the ability to communicate with a wide variety of individuals.
· Understand advising process for collegiate student-athletes.
