The Department of Athletics, with varsity programs in Division I (ECAC Hockey) and Division III (Liberty League), is seeking a Director of Cheel Arena to oversee operations of our on-campus ice arena. This is a full-time, 12-month position that includes comprehensive medical and retirement benefits.
Position Responsibilities: The Director will manage all aspects of Cheel Campus Center/Arena operations, including the planning, coordination, and oversight of facility programs. You will play a key role in developing the arena’s master and comprehensive plans, as well as managing capital repair and replacement schedules. Proven leadership and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-focused environment is essential.
Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) • 3–5 years of experience in sales, marketing, or sports management • Strong written and verbal communication skills • High energy, self-motivation, and excellent organization—must thrive under pressure and multitask effectively. • Customer-oriented, with comfort in engaging the public and handling sales-related duties • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Publisher, Word) • Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the University • Flexibility to work variable hours—including weekends—to meet arena demands
