Hiram College invites applicants to apply for the position of Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning. Hiram College is a private liberal arts institution located in northeast Ohio. The College is a member of the Presidents Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III.
Hiram College, established in 1850 as the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute, is a nationally respected private residential liberal arts college located 30 miles from Cleveland in the historic Western Reserve region of Ohio. At Hiram, close student-faculty interaction and innovation is routine. The College's distinctive academic calendar, the Hiram Plan, offers students the opportunity each semester for a three-week intensive course, study abroad/away program, internship or research experience.
The Graduate Assistant of Strength and Conditioning is a ten-month position which reports to the Director of Peak Performance and the Director of Athletics. The Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning is responsible for assisting in providing guidance and training to all athletic teams in the area of performance, fitness, strength training, conditioning, nutrition, and injury prevention. The Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning is responsible for assisting in the oversight, scheduling, and maintenance of the weight room and cardo room. The Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning will assist in the supervision of all student workers and interns assigned to the weight and cardio room. The Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning will work with other members of the Hiram campus as requested.
The Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning will embrace the responsibility of building a program respected for its commitment to the mission and core values of Hiram College, while representing the program in accordance with PAC, NCAA and institutional rules and regulations. Additional duties may include administrative roles, campus committee involvement and other duties as assigned. The Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning must apply and be admitted into either the Sports Management or MAIS Masters Program(s) at Hiram College prior to being offered this position. A CSCS certification is preferred but other strength and conditioning certifications may be accepted.
