South Dakota Mines is seeking qualified candidates for the Assistant Athletics Director/Compliance and Academics. This is a full-time, benefited position. SD Mines is located in Rapid City, South Dakota and is a NCAA Division II institution and member of the highly competitive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). The Hardrockers support 13 competitive NCAA DII sports. This position reports directly to the Athletic Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains institutional control of the compliance system for the college’s athletic program.
- Oversees the academic performance and progress of each of our varsity sports and all of our student-athletes.
- Develops procedures and policies to monitor and ensure compliance with all NCAA and conference rules and regulations.
- Verifies student academic eligibility to participate in university athletics.
- Investigates and reviews alleged NCAA and conference rule violations and communicates findings to appropriate parties.
- Serves as the lead contact with the University Student-success Center and department heads.
- Works with each head coach in coordinating academic progress, tutoring and reporting for each of our student-athletes academic success and graduation.
- Oversees all NCAA reporting.
- Serves as a liaison between the athletic program and the NCAA.
- Provide day to day management of the Academic Investment Program within athletics.
- Serves as a support personnel as a game management administrator.
