								<description>Tiffin, Ohio,  Reporting to the respective Head Coach, the Graduate Assistant or Intern Coach is a twelve-month position starting August 1, 2026 and is renewable for two consecutive years (two years total). The 2nd year appointment is contingent upon successful completion of GA duties and responsibilities. All GAs must adhere to their graduate program requirements including maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA and must be enrolled in graduate coursework in each semester of the appointment. Two positions are available.


Responsibilities:
&#8226; Will serve as an assistant coach with every aspect of the program.
&#8226; Assist with planning and implementation of training sessions, scouting, recruiting, video analysis, individual player coaching sessions, equipment, academic monitoring, and athlete fitness programs.
&#8226; Maintain compliance with NCAA, Ohio Athletics Conference (OAC), and University policies, rules, and regulations.
&#8226; Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Information

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position with an anticipated end date of December 31, 2026, with the possibility of reappointment. 
This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
Standard SDSU work hours are Monday &#8211; Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. (Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends)

 Education and Experience

Compensation:
Step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience, in alignment with the department&#8217;s budget and equity guidelines.

Initial step placement is not expected to exceed Step 3 ($3,709) per month.
Salary step placement for internal applicants will follow the CSUEU Collective Bargaining Agreement.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,565 - $5,092 per month (Step 1 &#8211; Step 20).
Future increases, including step advancements, are subject to contract negotiations.

 This position is primarily responsible for implementing marketing strategies to promote and increase student and member engagement in Campus Recreation programs and services including the areas of aquatics, facilities, fitness and wellness, intramural sports, member services, risk management, sport clubs, and student development. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Marketing, Member Services, and Business Operations. The assistantship will provide the student with comprehensive, hands-on training to further enhance their professional development in the fields of marketing and recreation. 
 Marketing Responsibilities 
 
 Collaborate with professional staff to develop new marketing strategies, promotional campaigns, and events 
 Lead the Campus Rec street team by coordinating tabling events and ensuring distribution of marketing collateral 
 Design flyers, brochures, posters, and other print materials, and distribute them across campus 
 Create digital collateral such as digital ads, social media graphics, short videos, and website content 
 Schedule social media posts promoting Campus Rec services, programs, and events 
 Work closely with the university social media office to ensure compliance with university standards 
 Engage with the online community to foster strong customer relationships 
 Compile and analyze social media analytics to improve promotional campaigns and strategies 
 Manage and maintain photo archives from programs and events&#xa0; 
 Oversee temporary facility signage and maintain promotional materials including digital and tabletop displays, bulletin boards, and giveaways 
 Coordinate marketing opportunities with other campus departments&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 Assist with related research, survey development, assessments, and evaluation of departmental programs 
 Assist with membership services programs, including promotional activities, special events, and member recruitment and retention strategies 
 Utilize artificial intelligence tools responsibly and ethically in the completion of marketing tasks. The Graduate Coordinator is expected to apply AI as a supportive resource while exercising professional judgment, verifying accuracy, and ensuring that all content upholds the integrity and standards of Campus Recreation 
 
 Student Development 
 
 Assist with the hiring, management, and development of marketing student staff, consisting of approximately nine assistants, including graphic designers and photographers/videographers.&#xa0; 
 Contribute to the creation of an innovative curriculum for marketing training and development that supports career-ready skill development. 
 Assist with all staff trainings and meetings including facilitating presentations 
 
 Software Management 
 
 Maintain and update the Campus Rec website using the Cascade software 
 Make edits to the Campus Rec FusionGo App as needed and update member portal widgets regularly 
 Gather social media metrics using Sprout Social, website traffic using Cascade, and newsletter metrics using Constant Contact 
 Schedule push notifications on the mobile app to promote services, programs, and events and to announce closures and cancellations 
 
 Manage communications media for the facilities including all FusionWave digital displays and networked fitness equipment&#xa0; 
 
 
 Participate in all trainings provided by Innosoft Fusion 
 
 Preferred Qualifications 
 
 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in marketing, public relations, or related field 
 Proficient in Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud   software including Photoshop, Illustrator, and inDesign 
 1-2 years working within areas of campus recreation marketing, public relations, graphic design, website publishing, social media oversight 
 Experience supervising student staff 
 Experience supporting and hosting special events&#xa0; 
 Knowledge of SubitUp scheduling software 
 
 Compensation  - Package inclusive of tuition worth approximately $40,000 
 
 $17,500 stipend&#xa0; 
 
 Second year staff may not get the full stipend if they leave the department prior to end of commitment

The assistantship will provide the student with comprehensive, hands-on training to further enhance their professional development in the field of customer service and recreation.&#xa0; 
 Member Services 
 
 Oversee front desk operations to ensure effective customer service delivery 
 Implements a new member orientation guide 
 Be knowledgeable and provide information on all department facilities, programs, and services 
 Effectively respond to member comments and suggestions; Facilitate updates to members accounts 
 Assist with membership services programs, including promotional activities and special events, and contribution to monthly newsletter 
 Assist in developing a member engagement strategy to improve the student/member experience, recruitment and retention, and to target underrepresented populations 
 
 Student Development 
 
 Assist with the hiring, management, and development of the main office student staff 
 Contribute to the creation&#xa0; of an innovative curriculum for main office training and development that supports career-ready skill development. 
 Assist with all staff trainings and meetings including facilitating presentations 
 
 Software Management 
 
 Oversee membership and point of sale program, including the online member portal, and troubleshoot software issues 
 Assist with the inventory and effective tracking of all point-of-sale items, memberships, and equipment 
 Generate usage reports for planning purposes&#xa0; 
 Participate in all trainings provided by Innosoft Fusion 
 Assist with reconciliation of daily deposits 
 
 Equipment Services&#xa0; 
 
 Assist with maintaining equipment inventory and assist with the process for the restitution of outstanding or lost equipment 
 Manage locker rental services and locker clean-out 
 
 Preferred Qualifications 
 
 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in&#xa0; business, communications, sport management/administration or related field 
 1-2 years working within areas of campus recreation front desk, memberships or business operations 
 Experience supervising student staff 
 Experience supporting and hosting special events&#xa0; 
 Knowledge of Connect2Concepts, Innosoft Fusion and SubItUp software
