Head Strength and Conditioning Coach –Ferris State University
Serve as the strength and conditioning coach for Ferris State University Division II athletic programs, including men’s and women’s basketball, football, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s golf, women’s soccer, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track and field and women’s volleyball. The list of sports this position will be working with is subject to change at the discretion of the Athletic Director or Sr. Associate Athletic Director. Responsible for department wide administration of strength and conditioning, including but not limited to: weight room scheduling and oversight, participation on athletic department senior staff, management of student employees and potential intern positions.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in exercise science, sports fitness, kinesiology, or related field. Minimum 1 year of previous work experience developing and maintaining strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes at the intercollegiate level. Up to date credentials as Certified and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification (SCCC) from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, or previously scheduled CSCS or SCCC exam with proof of certification necessary within 90 days of hire. Also required are valid certifications in CPR, AED and First- AID.
