								<description>Lexington, Virginia,  Virginia Military Institute (VMI), an NCAA Division I and Southern Conference (SOCON) member, is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Athletics Equipment &#38; Services. The position reports to the Deputy Athletics Director and will be responsible for all equipment, laundry services, operations. Daily interface with the coaching staff and administrative staff is expected. In addition, the position is housed in the football operations building and it is expected that this individual works closely with, and in support of, the football program. Position supervises one full-time assistant, part-time support and cadets.

Job Description:

&#8226;Have comprehensive knowledge of, and adherence to, all NCAA, VMI and Southern Conference rules and regulations

&#8226;Operate within all VMI and Virginia purchasing processes and procedures

&#8226;Maintain Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA)certification

&#8226;Ability to fit and repair protective athletic equipment

&#8226;Working knowledge of inventory systems and ability to control all equipment, footwear and apparel

&#8226;Strong organizational and communication abilities

&#8226;Willingness to develop strong relationships with vendors and companies specializing in athletic equipment, footwear and apparel

&#8226;Support fulfillment of footwear and apparel contracts

&#8226;Excellent communication skills and willingness to interact with coaching staff on a daily basis.

&#8226;Ability to adjust to a flexible work schedule

&#8226;Understanding of laundry operations and services

&#8226;Provide support to coaching staff, when appropriate, for uniform design and selection

&#8226;Develop and monitor work schedules for direct reports to ensure equipment/laundry room coverage and operations for all practices and competitions.

&#8226;Travel to selected team competitions

&#8226;Assist with administration of brand style guide and marks.

&#8226;Oversight for practice and competition venue preparation as needed

&#8226;Other duties as assigned and reasonably linked to function area

&#8226;Other duties as assigned by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics or his/her designee
 Minimum Qualifications: 
 &#8226; A bachelor&#8217;s degree and at least one year of relevant experience is required. &#8226; Must have a valid driver&#8217;s license. 
 Additional Considerations: 
 &#8226; AEMA certification or ability to obtain within one year.&#xa0; &#8226; Two years of athletics equipment/services experience with at least one year working with football.</description>

The selected candidate will report to the Deputy Athletic Director, Director of Compliance&#39;s primary responsibility is to direct, oversee, and coordinate all aspects of the NCAA Rules compliance program in accordance with all Southern Conference, NCAA and VMI rules.

Job Duties:

&#8226; Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance systems necessary to support all VMI, SoCon, and NCAA rules and regulations. 

&#8226; Responsible for the tracking of NCAA legislation and interpretations, processing waivers, and administering rules violations investigations. 

&#8226; Coordinate the certification of eligibility. 

&#8226; Monitor student-athletes academic progress and eligibility. 

&#8226; Develop and implement a robust rules education program to ensure all institutional stakeholders are appropriately educated on essential NCAA rules. 

&#8226; Conduct meetings with all teams periodically to educate student-athletes on key NCAA, athletic department, and SoCon rules and regulations. 

&#8226; Utilize compliance software to monitor eligibility, financial aid, playing and practice season, and any other applicable areas of NCAA rules compliance. 

&#8226; Assist with and ensuring accurate completion of required NCAA and SoCon reports 

&#8226; Assist with development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
 
&#8226; Assist with game day administration support. 

&#8226; Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: 
 &#8226; Has a working knowledge of NCAA Division I Rules Compliance. &#8226; Critical thinking, problem solving, and evaluation skills. &#8226; Strong written and verbal communication skills. &#8226; Ability to function effectively in pressure situations. &#8226; Attention to detail and ability to meet time demands. &#8226; Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task. &#8226; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment. &#8226; Bachelor&#8217;s Degree.

The Assistant Athletic Director/ Associate Athletic Director of Administration &#38; Business Strategy must possess the ability to be a self-starter, strong communicator, resourceful and can lead multiple groups and projects on a consistent basis.  The primary role of the Assistant Athletic Director/ Associate Athletic Director Administration &#38; Business Strategy is to manage and supervise various aspects of VMI Athletics&#8217; internal functions which include but are not limited to: Financial Management, Business Office, Human Resources, Sports Performance and Sport Oversight.  

Job Responsibilities:

&#8226;Oversee all aspects of the Athletics Business Office to include, but not limited to, budget development, staff development, fiscal management and financial reporting (EADA, NCAA).

o Ensure departmental compliance with all procurement and travel policies.

&#8226;Direct and manage the Athletics Department&#8217;s $18M operating budget.

&#8226;The position works closely with the Office Finance and Support, Keydet Club and Alumni Agencies in the preparation and monitoring of the departmental budget and financial service activities.

&#8226;Manage the execution of operational agreements and partnerships with external vendors.

&#8226;Involvement in monetary guarantees and /or NCAA stipends and assistance with preparation of various contracts as necessary.

&#8226;Works with each sport and support to unit review needs and assess priorities based on funding.

&#8226;Lead Athletics HR functions, including recruitment, hiring process, onboarding, and employee relations.

&#8226;Ensure compliance with VMI HR policies, procedures, and employment standards.

&#8226;Partner with HR on performance management, conflict resolution, and professional development initiatives for Athletics department.

&#8226;Manage and support sports performance staff. 

&#8226;Assist with game day administration support.

&#8226;Serve as sport administrator as directed by the Athletics Director.

&#8226;Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership team and Senior Leadership Team, contributing to long-term strategic planning and decision-making.

&#8226;Other duties as assigned by Athletics Director &#8226; &#xa0; &#xa0;Bachelor&#8217;s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, sport management, or related field. &#8226; &#xa0; &#xa0;Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in business administration or financial management in a college athletics department or conference office. &#8226; &#xa0; &#xa0;Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial management, reporting and internal controls. &#8226; &#xa0; &#xa0;Demonstrated ability to develop and monitor revenue and expenditure budgets. &#8226; &#xa0; &#xa0;Good knowledge of HR practices, contracts management and organizational operations.&#xa0; &#8226; &#xa0; &#xa0;Familiarity with NCAA and conference financial and compliance regulations. &#8226; &#xa0; &#xa0;Proficient in Excel.
