Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Minimum of three (3) years of video production & graphic design experience. Experience with video editing software (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere). Experience in live event production for video boards and/or streaming/television. Experience with Ross Carbonite, NewTek TriCaster, Blue Frame Production Truck, Ross XPression, 3Play, DVSport.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Prior game-day management experience for athletic contests. Previous broadcast experience within college athletics. Previous experience in a college athletic department setting. Previous Division I experience. Previous website maintenance experience.
Brief Description of Duties: Broadcast Operations: The Director of Broadcasting Operations will lead the planning, strategizing and execution of the production of in venue video boards and live sporting events for Stony Brook Athletics. This will include linear tv games and all streamed broadcasts. They will set up and maintain audio/video equipment for all events that take place in athletic venues. Oversee and run the control room before, during and after live productions with responsibilities including directing, technical directing and operation of replay and graphic machines. The Director will work with the conference office to ensure quality standards are met and broadcast packages are updated and maintained. The Director will maintain all the equipment and oversee the operations of the facilities related to the technical equipment needed for productions. Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise before, during or after a broadcast. Collaborate with external departments in the creation and execution of show scripts and delivering a first-class fan experience. Film/Video Projects: The Director will work in partnership with members of the Athletic external staff to create videos and graphic content for in venue scoreboards for athletic events. In collaboration with the department to plan and execute video content that meets department objectives. The Director will be responsible for the production of the “Wolfies' event which is the Stony Brook Athletics end-of-the-year awards show. Supervise/Training Gameday Staff: The Director will recruit and train the students/interns and staff on use of video equipment for Stony Brook Athletics broadcasts. The Director will oversee all broadcasting staff on game days and will work directly with Regional Sports Networks to produce linear tv broadcasts. Other: Duties as Assigned by the Associate AD for Strategic Communications.
Special Notes: This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
