General Description:
This position works within the Football Creative team to create, design & strategize on all branding efforts for Tennessee Football & the student-athletes. This position will create design work, and other digital elements as assigned for Tennessee Football recruiting efforts, team & student-athlete social media platforms, brand enhancement (Digital elements could include: photography, graphics, motion or animated graphics, etc.). This position will focus day-to-day on enhancing the Tennessee Football brand.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Collaborate with the creative team on the vision to enhance the Tennessee Football brand through recruiting creative, social media & various team/student-athlete marketing campaigns.
•Attend meetings related to content plans and/or strategy.
•Execute strategies through content creation. •Collaborate with 151 creative team on brand standards. Create additional content as assigned by the Director, Football Social Media & Creative Strategy, Director of Player Personnel & Director of Football Recruiting.
•Designing content in an office setting using industry-standard software specific to the needs of Tennessee Football coaches, staff and/or student-athletes.
• Attend recruiting meetings, creating content for recruiting weekends/evenings, practices & all football related activities.
•Create presentations & visuals for coaching staff members.
•Work with the football creative team as an additional art director for photo shoots during recruiting visits.
•Strategize student-athlete brand strategies & planning.
•Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree is required.
Experience:
Previous experience in graphic design or content creator with a Division I or professional sports team. Previous experience working directly in a FBS football program recruiting department and/or creative team is preferred.
Skills:
- The ideal candidate must be a "team player" who possesses the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight completion deadlines, work independently, communicate effectively and be of creative and imaginative mind.
- Candidate should have the knowledge to ensure brand consistency and uniformity in regards to and logo and color usage for all programs.
- Must be highly skilled in operating the Adobe CC graphic design software, including but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere.
- Requires strong artistic & graphics skills. Must have a strong eye and a high aesthetic for graphic and interactive design, typography, photography, etc.
- Requires the ability to exercise sound discretionary judgment, and the ability to interface and consult with cross-functional teams on the coordination of projects.
- Must possess a strong working knowledge of Mac OSX, as well as familiarity with Windows operating systems.
- Must possess the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
- Broad working knowledge and familiarity with NCAA and SEC rules.
- Must Monitor & recognize current trends in digital and social media & identify best practices to assist the football program, understanding of all social platforms.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude (preferred).
- Must be able to adapt to ever-changing workloads and deadlines, and work well within the team environment (preferred).
- Must have the ability to create compelling and engaging social and digital content, specifically for prospective student-athletes (preferred).
