The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is currently seeking an Assistant Athletics Director for Ticket Sales and Operations to oversee ticketing operations for the University's 27 sport programs.
The Assistant AD for Ticket Sales and Operations must demonstrate a high level of event sales strategy, ticket office operations, customer service, and management skills, including setting schedules for annual events, creating annual budgets, and collaborating with internal and external constituents on all ticket office operations. They set revenue goals for ticketed events consistent with specific department goals and the University brand, supervise event staff, and act with autonomy when making decisions about planning and implementing events and logistics.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversight of strategy and operations for the Ticket Office.
Developing and managing the unit budget on an annual basis.
Policies and procedures are formulated, approved, implemented, and monitored for the sale and allocation of tickets for all varsity sports, including pricing, season ticket renewals, distribution methods, and ticket-related promotional activities.
Direction and leadership is provided to the Athletics Ticket Office to ensure processing of tickets is appropriately maintained. Customer database is appropriately maintained through the Paciolan computer system and that the ticket office is sufficiently automated.
Ensures compliance with NCAA, ACC, and University rules and regulations governing ticket accounting, admissions and benefits.
Ensures game day management for all home events.
Supervises sales staff and administrative functions in the Ticket Office unit.
Creates and maintains an exceptional customer service environment.
Positive, professional behaviors are demonstrated to meet or exceed customer expectations in delivering service.
Collaboration with Promotions and Communications personnel is demonstrated to increase attendance and support promotional activities.
Bachelor's Degree with significant experience in ticket office operations.
At least five years of athletics ticket office experience required, which includes demonstrated knowledge of the marketing and sale of tickets and strategic ticketing strategies. Strong interpersonal, managerial, and customer service skills are required.
Working knowledge of NCAA, ACC, and University rules and regulations.
Ability to reason, recall, analyze and organize information in order to make substantive and sometimes complex decisions reaching reasonable conclusions within the scope of authority.
