Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs, the Ticket & Event Operations Manager is responsible for ticket operations and event management across all sports.
Job Summary: Manages operations for home contests across all sports, including staffing, communicating with opponents and officials, setup and breakdown, game administrator duties, and any other logistics/operations functions related to hosting department events. Manages ticket sales for ticketed sports, including parking, and daily and game day ticket office operations. Answers the phone and emails and takes customer orders over the phone and in person. Performs financial and other routine office duties related to ticketing and facility rental, including daily accounting, event audits, deposits and reporting. Hires, trains and supervises student and box office staff. Maintains season ticket database and ticketing platform in a manner that ensures maximum revenue. Serves as liaison for external group facility rental and ticketing requirements. Manages and reviews all website content and functionality related to tickets, parking and facility rental. Attends and works all ticketed events.
Master’s degree and three years of relevant work experience in intercollegiate athletics or professional sports, including experience with sports ticketing platforms and game/sport operations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Summary
Knowledge of event and sport operations and sports ticketing best practices. Strong problem-solving, computer, organizational, interpersonal, customer service, and oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with staff, student-athletes and coaches from diverse backgrounds and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
