Description of Work:
The Nebraska Maps & More Store is the map, book and gift store at the School of Natural Resources (SNR). As the Nebraska Earth Science Information Center and a U.S. Geological Survey partner, we have the largest selection of maps and natural resource material in the state.
As a Nebraska Maps & More Store Sales Associate, you will:
Provide a welcoming environment and positive customer service experience to guests, employees, and students.
Monitor the online ordering system daily to review and fulfill customer orders, process payments, and update order records to reflect shipping and payment status.
Assist walk-in and telephone customers with order placement and processing.
Assist the store manager with online product entry and inventory management.
Complete visual merchandising of sales floor, including product placements and maintaining store cleanliness.
Answer SNR phone and direct telephone calls and walk-in traffic to appropriate locations.
Handle mail pick-up and distribution and coordinate shipping/receiving operations.
Conduct onboarding and offboarding processes, including facility access, workplace setup and system/resource assignments.
The Maps & More Store is located on UNL's East Campus in Lincoln. Store hours are M-F 8a-5p with lunch closure from 12p-1p daily. Within the UNL system, this position is categorized as an Office Associate.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency plus four (4) years of office experience required; OR
Associate degree plus two (2) years of office experience. Additional completed education may substitute for experience.
Experience with file management, business software, word processing, spreadsheet, and data entry.
Ability to multitask and work independently within established guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:
Retail sales and/or customer service experience.
Knowledge of credit card receiving processes.
Familiarity with natural resource and geology terminology.
Ability to read and understand maps and legal descriptions.
