Ripon College, an NCAA Division III institution and member of the Midwest Conference, is seeking applications for the position of Vice President and Director of Athletics (AD). The incoming AD will join a high-performing department of athletic coaches and staff. Reporting to the President, the Vice President and Director of Athletics (AD) will represent the athletic department as a strategic member of the Administrative Council - the President’s executive leadership team. The AD will counsel, strategize and collaborate with Administrative Council colleagues on both the future of athletics and the institution as a whole. The AD will support the College's total academic program by designing and administering athletic programs, policies, and services that contribute to the education and welfare of Ripon College students. The AD oversees 19 NCAA varsity athletic teams and an esports team, supported by a three-member leadership team of coaches.
Candidates should exhibit an appreciation for the liberal arts and sciences, strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, and a proven track record in coaching and leadership development. They must model and embody a personal values system that promotes and celebrates a collaborative workplace climate that recognizes and rewards outcomes and assures accountability. The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of Division III athletics, a passion for effectively recruiting and retaining student-athletes with the capacity for academic achievement, and a commitment to student wellness.

A baccalaureate degree is required, along with at least five years of progressively responsible experience in college athletics or a related field. A successful coaching career is highly desired.

To support Ripon’s continued athletic excellence and enhance the overall student experience, Ripon College just opened a brand new stadium along with a recently renovated athletic center. Opened on September 30, 2023, Hopp Stadium is the new on-campus home for Ripon football, men's soccer and women's soccer. Groundbreaking for the 157,000 square foot on-campus stadium began in Spring 2023. The new construction features a 2,000 seat grandstand and press box, with viewing opportunities on Sadoff Hill and an outdoor plaza.
